  1. A big problem for the ‘use it, look after it model’ model is that for most people, looking after their land means landscaping it, removing its trees and natural, useful plants and making everything pretty by our standards

    1. That’s right! I guess we need to add “education about true land care” to our list of tasks to accomplish, to go beyond landscaping to truly living in harmony with the land.

  2. I really enjoyed this blog. and agree wholeheartedly with Wendell. Our country is young, we seem to often forget that. We haven’t sustained much but I do feel that the youths of the present generation are interested in treating our land with better care than the ones preceding. Hope we all learn from Wendell’s insight. Thanks for the post.
