  1. I think this is an interesting and important issue – something I’ve been thinking about a lot while reading Fast-food nation… 🙂
And i also have written a post on this subject (that I haven’t published yet) great minds… 😀

  2. This is a great post. It s amazing how the issues of health, economics, and social justice overlap in the fast food industry. You have covered the often forgotten social justice issues well, and what it takes for lower paid workers just to survive.

    1. Haha, I do wonder what consumers would say if presented with all the facts though… Pretty sure McD’s has them hooked enough that they would cough up the 5 cents anyway 😉

  3. This is true. McDonald’s really needs to step it up. Most of the people I work with are trying to support themselves or a family; they try to find second jobs, but the reality is, McDonald’s will cut your hours if they think you aren’t 100% available to them. The only way to get paid more than minimum wage is to wait for yearly reviews. Even then, it’s only 10 cents, so is that even worth it? Not good…..
